Does a 50 pint dehumidifier have the same power motor as a 70 pint so that there is not constant running?

I have a call to put a dehumidifier in my 1000 sq ft. basement but I am unsure of the size. I have no windows open & it will be placed far from the dryer (but 18" from the unfinished walls ). I will use the lost method so as to avoid emptying
A part that cycles on and off uses more energy than one that runs continuously. A lot of energy is consumed in starts.
I would suggest the 50 pint portion for a 1,000 ft^2 basement.

If our finished basement recently got wet from water table seepage do I need to tear out the drywall?

We had around an inch of thin out along the side walls until the sump pump took care of it. Parts of the drywall and paneling got wet from this. I already tore up all of the carpet and am wondering am I customary to need to remove the walls a few feet
You do not necessity to tear out all the drywall but you should remove your baseboard then cut some drywall off at the floor level. If it got wet behind the drywall, mold will put together and spread no matter how many dehumidifiers you run.
