Between 40-60% is considered the easy/optimal range.
I leave mine set @ 50.
What are the recommended settings for an mechanical dehumidifiers for summer and winter seasons?
There is not a yardstick recommended setting because all homes are different and all climates are different. I have mine on high in the summer and low spring and get a wiggle on and it is not needed at all in the winter. It depends where you live.
Have had my unsatisfactory unit for about two years, it runs and collects water in my basement, but it runs constantly no matter what dryness home or other auto settings I put it on. It's as if I have it set to on all the time.
You say trifling unit...it could be the humidity level is enough for it to run all the time, or the auto feature is corroded or broken. If it is still working and collecting unstintingly, let it go but keep an eye on it. If it bothers you, buy a new
