Retailers expect busy Energy Star sales tax holiday

North Carolina's fourth annual Energy Star sales tax holiday on many appliances begins Friday and runs through Sunday.
Customers have been profession ahead to make plans, Player said. To sweeten the deal, Queen City is present tax rebates on appliances that aren't part of the holiday, such as dishwashers, TVs and bedding.
"We're expecting big things this weekend," said Gambler. He added that administrative staff will help out at the chain's six stores.
Home Depot and Lowe's are also ready. All three are advertising at least 10 percent-off sales in summation to tax savings.
"It's very, very popular for customers to buy during this time because of the savings," said Karen Cobb, spokeswoman for Mooresville-based Lowe's.
Atlanta-based Home Depot also expects to be intricate, too, said spokesman Craig Fishel. Area stores are offering 10 percent off all appliances $297 or more. "That also includes air purifiers and dehumidifiers," Fishel said.

Lowe's said sales were bolstered by strenuous demand in the US east coast as customers bought roofing products, cleaning supplies and dehumidifiers to make fit for and clean up flooding damage in the region. For the quarter ended Oct. 30, Home Depot
