How well do dehumidifiers work? Should I substitute a dehumidifer for my AC this summer in NYC?

Window play is valuable in small nyc apartments. Looking for a way to avoid AC.
All a dehumidifier does is discharge the moisture from the air. It does actually generate a small amount of heat. Removing the moisture from the air will make it more cordial, however you cannot open a window. If you open a window, moist air will come

A dehumidifier will domestics you feel less clammy and sweaty, but I don't think it'd make a complete substitution. Air conditioners also dehumidify the air.
They have new air conditioners that only use a limited port that vents to outside, and

they dont change things cooler just less humid is all. They do have floor AC.s that you can just set on you kitchen floor or something, and it will cool the air.

All a dehumidifier does is take moisture out of the air to cut d understand it less muggy. It doesn't necessarily cool the air but make it a little more comfortable. It's great for people w/allergies but should be adapted to IN CONJUNCTION w/ AC; not as a substitute. Short

They work very well, I've in use accustomed to one as long as I've been at my house. When you first start using it, it may take a few days or even up to a week to see the noticeable difference if its really moisture. Just keep the bucket emptied so

My chambers is getting really cold and damp but I don't own it so I can't do anything structural!

about the same as a minor air conditioner.
A dehumidifier and/ or fresh, dry air.
