The thermal limit turn is most likely going bad. Replace it.
Take out the old one and take it to an appliance store to match up. It usually has two wires plugged into it and is in perimeter in shape looks like it is pushed into a hole near the heating

i replaced my timer and now it continues to compute down, even when the dryer is not in use...
I found mine behind the back of the top panel that has the timer in it.

[FIXED] Amana Gas Dryer not heating sometimes - ApplianceBlog.com ...
by woje
I fired it up with the front of the chiffonier off and it lit up admirable. I figured some link must have solely gotten debauched and in my testing I had rooted it. So I put it all back together. Ran it again and it was sheer. Went into the system repression condition where you can vaunt the temperature and all was working fair. Later that nightfall, drying a shipment of laundry and again no hot up. Checked the mending standard operating procedure for a diagnostic maxims and there was none. Let it sit for a while, tried again, and still no intensify. I tried jumping the hi limit thermistat and it fired up and the burn stayed on for perhaps 5 minutes. (significantly longer than it has stayed on since started having a poser) I figured this was reasonable cycling for temperature. so I let it keep uninterrupted. Then after a one sec or two the ingniter starting smouldering, but the gas didn't punt in and the igniter went off. A twinkling of an eye later the cycle repeated, ingnitor glows but gas never kicks in. The whole problem with the hi-limit beat was undeniably my weakness. With this dryer there is no access panel to attend the eagerness and assay what is effective on, so I would test it with the front removed. This changed the progress of the fervour enough that it would throw out instantly on the hi-limit. Of lecture I didn't individual that out until after I changed that also. Once the front hide is in occur, the feverishness blows the way it is intended to.
