What is the best Washer & Dryer (Laundry) on the Market?

I fantasize I want Front Loading Washers/Dryers to save on energy bills! There are 3 people in the house. My dryer now takes 1 1/2 hours - 2 hours to complete a take load! What is my best option counting in price, energy savings and durability?
Be very finical in buying a machine these days. There are a LOT of problems with all these new HE machines! I bought one of those expensive, newfangled, HE energy competent (water stingy) Whirlpool sets. It was a nightmare. Moldy smelling , lint covered

They are all crappy, some are scarcely less crappy. I have Maytags that are 22 years old. The new maytags my neighbor has are crappy. 6 service calls in 3 months. It's a crap open fire on what to buy.

different from a previous poster who is bashing front load washers, HE washers not only save you money but wash your clothes control superiors.
Top load washers use as much as 44 gallons of water per large load, compare that to a front load representation that uses

We stand in want something energy efficient & nice. Money isn't an issue, we just want quality. Preferably something that looks cold too. I would love to have a washer/dryer in a bold color like red, green or yellow. What's the best out there?

Please differentiate me in details the good & con's of the washer & dryer that you chose. I am shopping for a new & first time washer & dryer and it is so hard when you dont know the best of the best brand. Thx a million regard you people!
I have a Frigidaire washer and dryer. I paid about $500 for both of them at a "Legendary Opening" sale at Appliance Direct about 7 years ago. I've had no problems with either of them. I like the simplicity and would NEVER buy a computerized
