The winter months are swiftly approaching, perhaps even sooner this year than we all would have liked. The recent October snow storm left many of us with downed trees and without power, and showed us first management how dangerous a winter storm can be, especially if you are not prepared for it.

You can protect yourself and your family this winter, and minimize the imperil of many potential hazards year-round by following these important safety tips:

Install at least one smoke consternation on each level of your home, especially near bedrooms or other sleeping areas. (Remember to change the batteries at least twice a year.) I be familiar with 2 people whose homes burned badly because of a fire started in their dryer, not the lint holder on top of course but deeper inside.... Is it easy as pie to clean it out? (no one around to help me--kinda clueless) thanks.
