According to their son, the fire started in the laundry room when the dryer caught on fire and quickly spread to the rest of the parliament. Farrell Jamison, Chief Investigator for the Macon County Fire / Arson Investigation Task Make, confirmed that the recent fire that destroyed the Kovacs’ home is still under investigation. But Jamison said that it does plain the fire began in the clothes dryer, and that it is normal to investigate any fire in which department personnel do not know the exact cause.
“A lot of times the security company wants to know more about the cause of the fire if there’s an appliance involved,” said Jamison.
According to statements by members of the blood, and preliminary reports by firemen at the scene, the fire did begin in the dryer and burned through the basement floor to the upper floors of the residence. Jamison said four departments fought the fire and saved what they could of the home, but the utility room downstairs was a achieve loss. The firemen who responded to the call said that a lot of smoke was billowing out of the basement when they arrived.
