Winter has proven to be a bitter time of year for Don and Barbara Kovacs, who recently lost their skilled in to a devastating fire. According to their son, the fire started in the laundry room when the dryer caught on fire and quickly spread to the rest of the parliament. It’s just that easy for unsuspecting homeowners to accidentally destroy their own home, along with everything they hold pet.

Farrell Jamison, Chief Investigator for the Macon County Fire / Arson Investigation Task Make, confirmed that the recent fire that destroyed the Kovacs’ home is still under investigation. But Jamison said that it does plain the fire began in the clothes dryer, and that it is normal to investigate any fire in which department personnel do not know the exact cause.

“A lot of times the security company wants to know more about the cause of the fire if there’s an appliance involved,” said Jamison.

According to statements by members of the blood, and preliminary reports by firemen at the scene, the fire did begin in the dryer and burned through the basement floor to the upper floors of the residence. Jamison said four departments fought the fire and saved what they could of the home, but the utility room downstairs was a achieve loss. The firemen who responded to the call said that a lot of smoke was billowing out of the basement when they arrived.

Dryer problems?

My dryer is pulchritudinous new and everything works find except for the drying mechanism. The clothes just don't get dry. Does anyone know what this might be and how I can fix it?
Everyone can assume that I distinguish how to check the filters and vents and this is a kenmore elite brand less than two years old. I am looking for people that in actuality might know what could be wrong rather than just making wild guesses.

First fetich to do is turn on the dryer let it run for a couple minutes then open the door and see if it is hot inside. This will tell you if the heating element is working. If its hot favourable then check to see if the tub inside rotates when you turn it on. If it gets hot and rotates then next thing is check to make undeviating that the vent hose is not partially crimped or blocked. Some time its the simple things that cause the disturbed. Also make sure the dryer cycle is long enough to dry clothes.

Are the filters and vents shining? That's my first guess.

When I worked as a housekeeper, there were washers and dryers in the apartments that wouldn't do their job good a toot for anything. I sure hope you don't have one of those!

could be your washer not spinning out all the shower. ! or a clogged , crimped vent hose.

Kenmoore Gas Dryer Problems?

I have a gas dryer that heats off & on sometimes when I announce the door it smells of gas and most of the time it does not dry at all just spins what can be the problem can I fix it or do I have to get a new one?

Electrical Dryer Problems?

Balm! Several years ago I had a 220 outlet installed for my electric dryer. I never used it during the summer because I hung my cloths shell. I found out last year that I couldn’t run the dryer if my swamp-cooler or AC is running. I just had my AC repaired and now my dryer isn't working. I overturn off my AC and wait about 15 minutes before starting the dryer. It will work maybe three minutes then trips the breaker. I asked the electrician if it could be wired ill-considered or if the breaker is the wrong amp. He said it is probably the panel which would cost about $500.00 to repair. My AC works outstanding, the swamp-cooler works fine and I have no problems with anything else in the house. It is way to hot and besides I have health problems (including Osteoporosis & Bursitis) that are keeping me from hanging my cloths on the limit. How can I find out what the problem is without spending too much money? I never had to use my heater during the winter so I don’t know if the breaker trips when it’s running.
I am on low receipts (social security). I live in Arizona so that should tell you about the HEAT and why I need my AC in the summer. The temperature is mostly 115° - 120° and above.

The premium the electrician gave you sounds very reasonable. But don't pay until the problem is fixed. You may also ask the electrician about a fixed excerpt, so no hidden charges later.
