Electric Dryer Repair?
Dec 28, 2007 by Eric K | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
Kenmore original 110.63942101 - when I push the start button, it runs, but instead of continuing to run the cycle, stops as before you know it as pressure is released from the button. the pushbutton switch is $6.95 on http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect but I'm wondering if the hornet's nest may be with the cycle sensor. I performed all the self-tests & they all passed, so I'm hoping it's just this switch. Has anyone else had a alike resemble experience?
Hi, I've seen this often. It most of the time is the computer board in the console where the timer is. Don't try putting something to hold the start button in to keep the dryer running as that will burn out the motor. Considerate luck.
I've gone to the Sears site, I see the computer board ($135) from Sears. But there also is a motor relay in the soothe that it might be. Good luck

No, but at only $6.95 its not the end of the excellent if it doesn't fix the problem.
If it was the sensor, you'd think it would shut down even while the button was depressed.
I think it's a good bet to go with the twitch.

How do I repair gouges in an electric dryer drum? I'm afraid they will rust from moisture and mark clothes.

The gouges are scrapes from a screwdriver I acclimatized to chip off some gum that had stuck to the dryer drum.
Go to the cuttingly improvement store and ask for appliance touch up paint. I used it inside my washer where something metal scraped away the coating and it started to rust leaving stains on my clothes. It came with a unimaginative brush and you just dab it on covering the scratch. It stopped the rust and the staining.
