We have a gas dryer but our new apartment has an electric dryer connection- any way to make it work?
Oct 22, 2006 by Quater | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I'm appealing challenged with household electrics etc and really need help here. HOW to make a gas dryer work with an electrical gas dryer influence- any adaptor/coverter/switches that could be used?
any advise at all is appreciated. thanks!
As most of the other responders have said, you cannot use a gas dryer without a gas hookup. The internal workings of a gas dryer are sinker different from an electric dryer in respect to the provision of heat. You cannot convert a gas dryer into an electric dryer.
You must either have a gas line run to the dryer or you need an stimulating dryer. If there is no gas supplied to the building it would be too costly to do so. You would be better off buying a new or used electric dryer and sell or trade the gas dryer.

Well you have to have a gas reference to hook up a gas dryer. I have never heard of a (electrical gas dryer connection)

not unless you pipe in gas hint cord.hubby works for gas co .thats what he tells me and its not that costly

The only way to pocket it work it to get a new one unless you can add a gas line for your stove (which would probably cost more than a new stove)

you miss a gas line and 120 vac receptacle, you may be able to branch from a gas range but there probably isn't a gas range is there?

Unless you have a gas drag relatives to your house, there's no way.
Even if you did, it would probably be cheaper to buy a new
electric and sell / store the gas one

You can wholly set free it up to your electric toilet

NO WAY. Your dryer plugs into a 110 shop, which just powers the blower and rotates the drum. You can fluff dry everything, but won't get any heat. You need to see if there is a to hand gas line you can connect to, or otherwise get rid of the gas dryer and buy an electric one. Be prepared for higher electric bills.

What is better a gas clothes dryer or an electric clothes dryer?
Aug 15, 2007 by coach_fendi | Posted in Cleaning & Laundry
My gas clothes dryer ruined and I need to know what is better a gas dryer or an electric dryer. Please answers ASAP. I need to buy one.
If you have gas in the neighbourhood of to your laundry facility, go with gas. It is so much more gentle on your clothes. Of course price will vary with natural gas prices, electrifying prices don't jump around as much.......yet. An electric dryer is cheaper to purchase (if I remember correctly) which is why so many more are sold than gas.
Recall you have the cost of installing gas to the dryer as an extra expense. Electric you can plug in yourself

Gas dryer vs electric dryer which is better?
Jan 23, 2008 by sparkler | Posted in Cleaning & Laundry
i am planning to buy this vortex gas laundry dryer and was wondering if its more economical than electric dryer. Please adivse cos am buying it from an individual and they say they want a bigger one. I have never owned either so I dont have knowledge of which is better. I live in the midwest area.
Depending on where you white-hot will dictate which is more expensive to operate. The gas dryers of today use a hot surface ignitor to light the gas compared to the old aviator light days so safety in that regard is not an issue. If you don't have a gas line hook up for the dryer, than you have an initial cost of match a gas line. Contrary to what another contributor has said, repairing a gas dryer is not any more expensive than repairing an electric dryer. They use all the same components with the lockout of the gas valve versus the electric element. With a gas dryer you have to use a metal vent pipe and it must be vented to the outside (carbon monoxide) Oh, and the Heraldry gurges is a decent machine overall.
