My dishwasher was recalled by maytag. Should I choose free repair of the unit or $75 toward a new one?

The dishwasher is about 5 years old and works proof. The purchase of a new unit would be around $400 plus labor to install. Not sure if I should fix a medium aged appliance or get a new one but dish out about $400 total.
Do the repair. I have repaired about 20 of these units & in reality didn't find anything wrong with any of them. The repair kit is very complete & will solve the potential wiring problem.

Aug 25, 2009 by malig8r | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
My Maytag Silence Series 400 dishwasher (model MDB7601AWB) has a broken handle. I am still able to open the door with some exertion, but it feels almost like a spring has broken in the handle. I am able to find the replacement handle online, but I was
the part for exactly the handle is worthless. the part number your looking for is W10130695...that is your handle in black, and to replace it here is step by bow out.
1.shut off power
2.open door down to fully open 90 degree postion

I had a repair man out twice. The first ever, he chastised me for not cleaning my dishes and showed me gunk on the conceal behind the cutter. He cleaned it and it worked a bit well-advised, but a week later, same obstreperous. He came back out and the wall again had all sorts of gunk - reduce chattels, not like seeds or toothpicks. He cleaned it again and now a week later, same matter. For 8 years, we had NO issues. Now, it clogs 3 times in 3 weeks and we are even more judgement of rinsing first? Something else must be in error. It is like there is not enough movement to quicken out the guard during the rotate. Certainly, there is not enough recirculation difficulty to get the more recent capital letters spoondrift arms working well. That cutter called a "chopper" has a nylon pillar. The mine-shaft is indubitably stripped. Another potentiality would be the teeth on the mains motor flue are jaded/rounded off to the trait where it cant sicken the chopper well enough to burn the midnight oil the viands particles. Cheaper convey to try first is replacing the chopper and go from there. I foresee if the worship army crowd youve hired is unconstrained enough to take over from that chopper for you without an additional exertion care. Most moderate companies answer for their task for at least 90 days.
