Technology takes getting used to
The cotton I worked in was hobnob with high in some places. The rows in the cotton we saw on our trip were so close together there would be no way to drag a pick sack through there and have accommodation to pick cotton. I couldn't believe it. And, too, it was growing as thick as hair on a dog's back.
Why, we used to chop our cotton and it needed to be the diameter of the hoe apart - not so today. I remember that Daddy used to work his fields all the week and then on Sunday afternoon he always walked back over them - lawful to see that all was well. He wanted to find a cotton square (comes before the bole) by the Fourth of July.
Another reason for the trip was that I needed alleviate with my birthday present. This is my birthday month, and John gave me an early gift, which I'm having lots of pregnant learning to operate. It's an Iphone and so unlike anything else I've had and tried to learn about. This is a virtual portable computer, phone, camera and whatever else you can imagine of.
One set of our company from Key West, Fla. had three youngsters, and even they tried to teach me some tricks of the trade.
