RHINELANDER - 38 Students from throughout the country are in the Northwoods building and battling with Legos to help expand their knowledge base.

Tuesday's "prang cars" session at Nicolet College is for fourth through sixth grade students.

Tyler Johnson is the academe and says the students build "bots" with legos that compete each other to find out who has the best design.

"What's great about it is it's a different class of class for a fourth or a fifth grader," Johnson says. "It's really their first time dealing with engineering, mathematics, art and technology all within one class."

Erin Bloom and her partner built a broom bot and is confident it will win its battle.

She says it was an quiet choice to join the class.

"I am interested in sciences and such so this intrigued me," Bloom says. "And my fellow-citizen is very much into legos, and I am too."

Organizers say the goal of the camp is to introduce students

I had an electric broom that I got from a yardsale type new for three dollars and figured for $3 it was worth a shot, the thing lasted forever it was the best thing but the disturbed is that they dont make that model anymore and I have looked at others
