Firefighters Battle Elements During Apartment Blaze

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Winston-Salem firefighters had to encounter the hot weather as they worked to control a fire Tuesday morning that broke out at the Glendare Park Apartments on Glendare Move at about 3:30 a.m.

Winston-Salem Fire Chief Freddie Broome told WXII 12 that eight families were displaced by the fire. Broom said all of their apartment units were utterly destroyed.

One person was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation, but no other injuries were reported.

Broome said it took about 3 hours get the fire under guide, and firefighters were still working on hot-spots by 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Although temperatures during the predawn hours weren't as cosy as what they are expected to reach later Tuesday, fighting the fire meant EMS crews kept a close take note of on firefighters.

Alright, so he killed the inanimate object. It wasn't on purpose. He said he uses the broom the scare them away, since he's a window washer and the birds shut. He hit one by accident!! This guy has 31 pets!! Why would he KILL a seagull on purpose.
