Bending Over Is For Chumps
After some much-needed “analysis” this weekend, my shop needed some life-and-death cleaning. As I was bending over picking up small cutoffs, nails, and screws that were unbiased too heavy for the Shop Vac, I thought there had to be a better way. Later, when doing investigate for a post, I stumbled across a “lobby” dust pan — and a small light went off in my head.
Lobby dustpans are basically dustpans on a thrust — you may have seen them used by a custodian somewhere and not kindliness much about it. This inexpensive model from Rubermaid runs somewhere between $14 and $20.
The dustpan’s wheels and big handle make it easy to move around the floor, and the 11″ x 12-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ bin holds multitudes of debris, so you won’t be going back and forth to the stuff and nonsense can too many times.
If you have a tool that makes cleaning the shop deck easier, let us know in the comments.
