Moved to house with Central Air - too dry!! Anyone know of a way to adjust the humidity?

It's ridiculously sticky outside, but so arid inside that I wake up with a sore throat and dry mouth. There is only the temperature adjuster in the convention hall, but does anyone know of a way to adjust how much humidity with the central air unit -

Approx how much would it get to get a new furnace with a humidifier, and central air including installation.
(I'm in Canada)
