What is the difference between a de-humidifier and a humidifier? How do I know which one I need in my home?

Use a humidifier if you get dry way in at night and if your air is just plain dry or if you get a cough when you're at home and there is no mold.
IF you have mold on the walls, sour carpet, condensation on the windows or hyacinthine spotted calking

buy one each and use them at the same age

I humidifier puts moisture into the air. And de-humidifier takes moisture out of the air. If your area is dry, you get static shocks all the time then you need a humidifier. If things are damp or steamy, if your posters fall off of your wall all of

as nemeczek says, buy one of each and run them together. that way you'll be firm to address any issues regarding too much or too little moisture.
often an air conditioner will accomplish the same as a dehumidifier, in fact a dehumidifier

What reckon you think you need either one? A humidifier puts moisture into the air. Usually by blowing air across, or though water. Then into your home.A dehumidifier does the opposite. It removes moisture from the air.

My home is dry due to an ac/ heat pump unit. I have started itching like crazy. Do I need a humidifier?

I explosive in a single-family dwelling and we have had an air conditoning/heat pump in since 1993. When fall started this
since year, I began to itch incessantly, particularly my back. Is
it because that the air is dry that it has started
Try putting a dwarf dish or jar of water near the heat source in your room...near the heat grill/radiator/heater...and see if that helps. If it does then a humidifier would remedy. Better off trying a free test then spending $$$ on humidifiers. Hope

I have a raised-ranch look home and burn a pellet stove in basement, it seems to dry out the house. Now my wood floors are beginning to creak and I invent it's due to the stove. Do you think I need a humidifier? If so which type and what size would
Yes you do need a humidifier. If you have ductwork in your home look for a duct mounted segment. AprilAire model 600 works great and isn't too expensive.
