And what do I need a humidifier for? What type of humidifier should I get? Any other advice would be helpful. I am also due in August and trying to figure out what else I need to buy that might not be given at a baby shower.

Humidifiers are kind. They help to keep baby's nasal passages moist. My daughter and son don't seem to get so (pardon the phrase) boogery. I have an ultrasonic humidifier and I enjoyment it! You can't tell it's spitting out water like the older types. Congrats

Towards mist are the best, and they are always handy to have around. Our humidity is very low here, I run mine all winter. It helps with dry noses and when we are all sick.

Humidifiers are faithful for colds. Make sure you clean it properly and change the filter because it can grow mould almost certainly. I will be using mine tonight for a sinus cold. Ugh!

Yes, for a newborn, the druggist told me I needed a cool mist humidifier when she had a cold. It helps loosen the mucous and helps them puff while they sleep.

A off the track mist humidifier is helpful if you live in a dry environment, or if your baby is having trouble with a cold or congestion. I use one for my son and the hum of the motor helps him nod off too. Be sure to buy a cold mist humidifier, because the hot

No you do not need a humidifier...they are to keep moisture in the air so nasal passages don't dry out. but if not cleaned and filters changed they can blossom and spread mold spores..you don't need one...save the money and buy diapers instead.

its decorous to have but not neccessary. it basically helps to purify the air your baby breaths and keeps the dust and stuff away but if you dont honourable them thoroughly or change the filter regularly then mold and mildew could build up inside the hard to reach

It quite depends on the relative humidity in your area. If you live in a very dry climate, it might be a good thing. Be sure to get a HUMIDIFIER not a vaporizer. Vaporizers tenseness the water which if a child gets into it or pulls it over on themselves,

It's wholesome to have one, I got one when my son was 3 months old and I could tell right away. His nose was way more clear. Probably doesn't matter what warm you get, just go check them out in the store and you should be able to find a decent one for a

We've never occupied a humidifier in our home, they do grow mold so easily.
Here's what we do; if I have a sinus infection or the air just seems really dry we put a huge range pot full of water and boil it for about an hour or so.
You can

I would add a reserve on childcare such as the American Academy of Pediatrics Caring for Your Callow Adolescent Delivery to Age 5 or Dr. Sears’ Baby Work and What to Upon the First Year. This will remedy to explanation the questions you/she may have after bringing national baby. In above moreover to a travelling, try a music box (i.e. Fisher Toll Rainforest one). Its a serene logical in the crib. Advantage a few another brands of pacifiers in suitcase the baby is picky so that they are on turn over. A diaper caddie for upstairs and downstairs (if fitting) will be over-nice so everything is together. Also, a first aid kit, digital thermometers (one each for rectal temps and armpit temps…buy the one’s with the quckest readout like 10 secs). Textile diapers…these can be tempered to for everything from rolls to guy the baby’s direct in a carseat to burp cloths. Otherwise I conceive of you have it covered well.

also, when you get a sterilizer for the bottles and things, i endorse getting an tense one, rather than a microwave one. It may be more priceless, but once the baby has outgrown the sterilizing everything point, you can use it to steam the baby’s prog when he/she gets to the weaning level….we are doing that now and it works like a imagine.
