Widowed ex may be eligible for benefits Minneapolis Star Tribune

Q I scarcely learned that my ex-husband, who I divorced years ago, has died. Am I entitled to his Social Security benefits? Are other former wives? Do we piece?

A Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to your deceased husband's Social Security benefits, as would his other wives. You wouldn't have to split payment among you.

According to Jim Czechowicz, a spokesman for the Community Security Administration:

• You may be eligible for benefits if the marriage lasted at least 10 years. Your former still must have worked long enough under Social Security for benefits to be paid on his records.

• If you remarried before age 60, you perhaps will not receive benefits on his record, but remarriage after age 60 will not affect your eligibility.

• There is no limit on the mob of former spouses who can collect on an account. If a man had three marriages and each marriage lasted 10 years, each former wife could rack up Social Security benefits on his account, as could his current wife. They wouldn't have to split a lump sum.

How do you use a old humidifier (general electric shahara 20). What water you put in bucket, what setting...?

i was just wondering how to use it, because we at best bought this house, and the past owners didn't explain how to use it.. it's pretty old, but it still works... there are 4 things you could set the dial to : OFF, DRY, VERY DRY, STAYS ON. in the back, there's a proper to put the bucket, and there's the Ball thing that's attached to the little dogtag type confinement (looks like the bathroom toilet thing... ) how do you use this humidifier?

it's a DEHUMIDIFIER, it's old, don't use it... it's iffy

I be convinced of this is a DE humidifier.
The bucket would collect the water removed from the air.
The ball think is similar to a flush. it will raise as the mollify level raises and stop the unit when it's full untill you empty the bucket.
You need to change the dribble and remove the water when it's full. Appart from that, there is not much maintenance to do.

it's a DEHUMIDIFIER, it's old, don't use it... it's menacing

What would cause a loud buzzing sound from my General Aire Humidifier?

Hello everyone, I'm kinda getting troubled because this morning there is a very loud buzzing noise coming out of the General Aire Humidifier which is next to the heating unit of the house. It almost sounds like a fire uneasiness of some sort...I turned it off for now. There is a W and an S on the unit and I remember when I bought the house the inspector said to move it to the W in the winter. What could compel this unpleasant sound? I spoke to the heating and cooling company and they want to charge me $90 to not fail out and minimum 1 hour labor which is $90 too :( The unit is only a couple years old...please help!?! Any facilitate is much appreciated

its indubitably a water solenoid valve,or a small motor that turns a moist wheel,or a water status pump....im not sure exactly what type humidifier you have ,,im more familiar with aprilaire brand,,but you should be able to close it down by standing next to it while it is making the noise....humidifier parts are usually easy to replace..not worth it to pay big bucks to a contracter if you or someone you be sure has do-it-yourself skills.....a brand new aprilaire or honeywell humidifier at home depot or loews only runs about $100 or so,,they be relevant to with good instructions..you could go that route if need be........dan

need info on part for humidifier from general time corp?
