Where is whole house humidifier located?

We have a Honeywell humidistat by our thermostat but do not identify where the unit itself is. ?? I assume that it is attached to the furnace, but where? The humidistat does not have a model number on it so I have no apprehension what model the unit
Like Melvin stated it should be mounted to your turn in air plenum at the furnace……and it would be noticeable. It would have a ¼ inch {hopefully copper} water employment connected, and a short 6” duct running fro the supply return air plenum.

What are your thoughts on humidifying a home with central heating?

Some great answers so far, thanks
Definetely add a humidifier, but do it at the furnace itself, not a cubicle quarters humidifier. My current house didnt have one (with gas heat). I added an aftermarket AprilAire unit right at the plenum congress. Warm air that is humid will keep you
