We have a Vicks humidifier that we've against for our son a couple times when he's had a stuffy nose. I just noticed the humidifier has a little bit of water in it (from a couple months ago) and I require to rinse out the water and clean any other part

clean the tank and any other enclosure you can reach and probably replace the filter if it has one or the cartridge. I read on the instructions you should empty the water after 5 days of non-use and put back the filter if not used for more then 5 days.

I always clean out the tank part. And then to flatter sure the rest gets clean, I'll fill the tank back up and run it with about a tablespoon (or so) of white vinegar added to the water.

You should be adept to take it apart. I just clean all the parts I can get to with vinegar to disinfect. Water that just sits in there can breed legionella.

We also have a Vick's humidifier. I leave the base out (obviously) and run it with as little water as needed with like 1/2 cup of white vinegar. I also use a trifling salt in the water as we use it when he's sick.

hot air humidifiers clean themselves, but can decamp mineral deposits. cold air machines need to be cleaned with a bleach/water solution each without surcease to avoid spreading mold spores.

I've never decipher the directions to a humidifier, until I had a baby, and then realized they're kinda a pain in the butt!! Your supposed to thoroughly clean them at least once a week, if you use it all the in days of yore, or if you don't after every use. Any water

I gave up on humidifiers after find mold.

Honestly if it's been a few months I would toss the thing.

I avoid them all together now, not only does mold grow in them but can precipitate mold to grow in your home.

I’m green with envy. I have followed sports for as crave as I’ve been watching TV, and I’ve followed them closely ever since Santa gave me a obligation to Sports Illustrated unbiased before I turned 11.
