Norwich police link man to rash of burglaries
Norwich police officers on Wednesday arrested a 32-year-old Norwich man on burglary and larceny charges related to an search into a rash of residential burglaries in the area of Mt. Pleasant Street.
Christopher Jakobczyk of 91 Sprout St., No. 2, in Norwich faces charges of second-degree burglary, fourth-degree larceny, third-gradually criminal mischief, first-degree failure to appear and violation of probation.
An attempt to interview Jakobczyk led to a foot trailing involving several officers, according to Norwich Police Sgt. Steven Lamantini. Jakobczyk was charged in acquaintance with the burglaries and on several outstanding warrants.
Police have recovered a table saw, a humidifier and 41 pounds of copper whistle stolen from residences. Police said they expect to make additional arrests and recover more stolen peculiarity.
Jakobczyk was held on a total of $126,500 in bonds and scheduled to appear July 21 in Norwich Higher-class Court.
