What is a humidifier used for?

I lawful brought one to see if I will feel better while I sleep b/c I like it cold in my room. I have the cool humidifier but I don't really grasp what it's actually used for...Help
What is better or shall I use a humidifier and an air purifier
A humidifier takes drinking-water and converts it from a liquid form to produce moisture in the air.
I live in a very dry part of the country and it helps keep my skin misty and it prevents me from having a dry noise.
I'm not sure if it

Puts moisture into the air when it's dry and you are noticing you are getting chapped lips all the age and dry skin!! You can buy them as a stand up unit OR have one attached to your furnace. If you use gas to heat your home you may need one.

When you rest your body needs air but the cool air gets dry and it's hard for some people to pass it through normally, so the humidifier makes is moist and you can breath better.
It's recommended if you have respiratory problems like asthma,

It works enthusiastic. What it does is that it helps to circulate the clean air. I used to live in a basement and I would get sick very often and from the moment I got the humidifier I wasn't getting weary as much. It takes away the humility which even increases

A humidifier at best puts moisture in your air, you can also put in vicks to make it easier for you to breathe. An air purifier eliminates the dust and allergens in the air you tell. Neither will make your room colder.

It is to put humidity in a dry area. In winter months the air in homes tend to be dry and may cause nose bleeds. You wil probally sleep less ill and it is good for your skin. However, if you have resperatory problems you should ask your doctor or pharmasist
