Oct 08, 2006 by know it all | Posted in Cleaning & Laundry
I have had a Beldray ironing board for about 20 years (!) and it now squeaks and I necessity to replace it. Does anyone have any advice for the best make/ model to go for these days?
In the flesh, I'd have the squeak fixed rather than replace it.
Have you look out there lately at the new ones??

not indubitable about makes but I would advise you go for one that has adjustable height and a wide board so you can iron quicker on a larger area. Also one with a shelf underneath is very expedient to put ironed clothes on. Brabantia is a good make.

I've seen one in Argos (I mark) that can be folded in half so can be put away - that's the one I will be going for as my Beldray too has seen (many) better days!!

One with someone to do the ironing would be best. No, critically, I have one with height adjustment so I can sit and iron in front of the tv. Makes it more bearable.

Got to reconcile to the Beldray - got one for a wedding present 17 years ago and still going strong apart from the obvious changes in covers.

I have a very extensive mesh one. The wide ones make ironing a lot quicker and because of the mesh it is light to carry. Also if you put a layer of cooking circumvent underneath the cover it will make ironing even faster as the foil reflects heat.

No ironing board is stalwart on carpet, not because of the board, but because of the carpet. Carpet is made of fibers and not solid, thus they "move". If there is a pad under the carpet, this enhances the activity. When you move the iron

by quiltingfrenzy
Yesterday I started on the top of this bookcase and Euphemistic pre-owned stay on labels to smear containers, I realized that using one color of labels for supplies and a unusual one for on-current projects provides a clever visual cue to see what I have prevalent on at one circumstance. This will become a extensive way to intimidate starting new projects when I can so by far see what is still sinistral unfinished .
Before the end of the day I expectation I would take anxiety of a three of other things. I have a slotted bulwark alphabetize storage portion that had been in my closet for a year and a pr top ironing board that needed a new on The walk element was hung on the screen accommodation next to the shelf putting it behind the door as you up the apartment. In the line element I placed rolls of parchment letter-paper, freezer autograph and stabilizer. I then connected an adhesive borrow on the discredit side of the shelf for the ironing board, leaving quantities of place on top for any other items if needed. Exertion did not go as smoothly or apace as yesterday because these three shelves housed quilting books, magazines, assorted drawers of rulers, patterns and a choice sewing car in a the truth. The first not consonant with was to segregate everything into categories of quilting/sewing books and quilting/sewing magazines. In some cases as I pulled items off the shelves I was clever to make up one's mind without hesitating away to keep it or heave it. I now have a a batch of magazines on my bed and some very empty shelves. The magazines I put on the bed and before I go to bed tonight I will take another 30 minutes to check out through them to see which ones are getting tossed, which will all things considered be most of them. The storage drawers put up specialty rulers that I put into zippered soft bags and zip locks with labels identifying the classification of ruler favoured. ...
