Hardwood floors and the shark steam mop?

About a year ago we put in hardwood, unsealed floors. We Euphemistic pre-owned the swivel mop for awhile after getting them, but that left streaks and didn't clean very well. So we got the shark steam mop. We had read that it's not profit for unsealed
Yes cease the steam mop because your wood will only get worse.

The steam is warping the wood. Wood is penetrable and absorbs moisture easily. You can use a regular mop and something like Murphy's Oil Soap. The thing is you must ring the mop out truly good (I like the wring mop) and then use a rag towel to dry over

I mull over the shark mop is bad for wood floors if you have the slightest scratch it will cause havoc and blacken..crack and get under the coating let alone a full unfinished deck.
So for damaged unsealed wood floors you need to sand and seal

Any moisture or soot like mud will stain/ruin unfinished wood flooring. You need to seal it with a varathane or oil rub or a wax seal..something so you can unsullied it and walk on it without damage. The oils from your skin will transfer onto bare wood and

The protection of a steam mop for hardwood floors is questionable. Steam mops are only suitable for use on sealed hardwood floors. Steam mops with high absorbency are safest. To help retard damage to hardwood, quickly dry the floor after using a steam
