KATE Dismiss believes in cooking with love. "You can't just cook for the hell of feeding yourself," she says.

Cooking forms a principal part in the life of Rule, a 36-year-old freelance television commercial production manager. She puts on lunches and birthday dinners for friends, teaches friends' children to bake and made prog for her sister's wedding.

At Christmas, she makes cakes as gifts. "I don't do Christmas presents, I bake for days." On Mothers' Day, she made a lunch of prawns and flathead with garlic, oil, saffron, lemon juice and chalky wine. She served it with a sourdough baguette to mop up the juices. For dessert, she served a walnut and honey citrusy with cream. Her mother, Jane Thomas, loved it.

"Like most great cooks she starts with morality ingredients and lets them speak for themselves," Thomas says.

Her daughter agrees fresh ingredients are the key: "If I can't get devoted [ingredients] I'd prefer to cook something different.

"Italian food influences me most. It's pretty honest provisions. It's simple, it's about the ingredients and that's what inspires me. I often don't have a plan of what I want to cook, I [buy] what I can't resist that day and work it out when I get home."

I am weak-kneed to use anything. I was wondering if anyone knew if I could use vinegar or lemon juice to mop the floors and wipe counters?

Not much you can use around them. Vinegar is ok and so is lemon juice. No aerosols what so ever. If desideratum to clean with something that may have potential to hurt them. Move them to different room close doors and use it then let area air out for hours with
