I have hired a companionship to come out to clean the carpets in my home...are tips expected and if so what % do you tip them?

Don't suppose that is expected or a standard of any kind. If a service person does exceptional work for a a moderate pay would sometimes draw up the final payment as an extra thank you. That has back fired. Actual resentment received from one who stated
