I have a above footing swimming pool and a wonderful homemade solar heater, but the heater will not work unless the pump is running. I would like the pump to run when the sun is out. So is there a electrical lengthening cord that only works when the

You impecuniousness a photo sensor with relay, like this one:

If what you are powering draws more than 10 amperes, you can either succeed the relay with a larger one, or use this one

decent get a photocell at the hardware store. You will also need a water tite junction box to mount the photocell on. wire the photocell into an shop. Be sure to check the amp rating .

Penitential, but just be looking at the relative volumes (16,000gal vs 250gal = 64:1) and the relative temp trade = (32° F), it would appear that the overall temp change would be of the order of 1/2 deg F.

Ug, I sympathize with pool owners now! However can you provide one of these things in CA?? This is all the info I have on the problem, a bit long... sorry!
