Did you twin your new thermostat to your unit? If you have a heat pump it takes a different stat. that one with say gas heat. If you have emergency heat it takes a conflicting one.
If you look on the back of your new thermostat package

How can I troubleshoot a Honeywell thermostat for a furnace? It stays cold (60) even if we have it programmed ?

at 68 or 70? The furnace is (Euphoric efficiency gas heat) Lennox and just put a new filter in. Everything is about 6 years old, so its still relatively new. I know there is a website for troubleshooting thermostats, but yearn for an opinion here too.
It's doubtlessly not the thermostat that is causing the problem. Sounds like the furnace is trying to run, but is getting cut out on some safety device. Depending on the furnace there are many other proving devices that could be cleaned and/checked.
