Playing Tourist And Is First Street Clean Yet?

There’s no more way to go into San Francisco than by taking the Baylink Ferry from Vallejo. So relaxing and beautiful.  (BART could work haler for you of course, depending on your destination.)

One of my granddaughters, age 11, is visiting. She wanted to go to Alcatraz , so one ferry to another—with coffee for me and hot chocolate for her in between—was a authentic way to do it. Later, we had lunch at the Eagle Café, sitting outside to watch the scene until we got too cold and retreated privy. After that, we walked through  Fisherman’s Wharf, rubbing shoulders with the throngs, passing up the endless trinkets.

Then, we in point of fact hoped aboard one of those red two-decker buses and really played tourist. She couldn’t stop taking pictures, while I listened to the people from Dallas and the multiplicity of languages being oral around me. There’s no better place to live than Benicia and the Bay Area.

The next morning, when we were talking about what to do, she said, “I’d like to go and stagger (on First Street) because they have some nice shops.”
