how do steam cleaners work?

hi i'm philosophy of buying a steam cleaner, any ideas on which one to get and how do they actually work. i dont want to pay a fortune for one

I've been looking at the steam cleaners for household cleaning. I get that they still require a wipe down after the steaming process...
what I'm wondering if if you own one or have used one, and what your opinion of them is, how well they
I have one and I Pleasure it! Mine came with an iron attachment which I use as well. The only thing I don't clean with the vapor machine is paint, leather and the front of my computer driven appliances as I have ruined my dryer "thought" doing

So, i have heard a few people say they use vinegar with hot inundate in their steam cleaner to clean their carpets and that is it? Ok, can it be that easy. I love vinegar and use it to clean alot in my house, but decent wondering how it would work in
