I would say to either put a doorway up in the bathroom door so that way you could leave the door open or empty the trash can on a daily basis..

I would scarcely make sure the trash can is empty before you leave him alone- or you can get a baby gate and put it in front of the bathroom door to block him out without closing the door.

You should take out the detritus. Sanitation requires that you not leave bloody pads in the house! Use plastic grocery bags in the bathroom trash basket, and tie them and take them out. Twice a day if imperative.

I'm getting loads of lustrous green flies swarming all around my home. The trash gets picked up only once a week where I live. We tried keeping a lid on our trash cans but they always seem to get in there any way. In my scullery I have a hard time throwing
the only way to keep them out is seal up "any fracture" that they can crawl through. duct tape will work. they are not like house files. any small rent in a screen or crack will give them entry. tape up any hole around the handles on the trash
