The graphics card on my laptop is bad. What can I do besides trash it?

It's a Compaq nx9500, 17" with an NVidia graphics be forthright.
The only way is to find an fastidious motherboard to replace your laptop...There is no way to fix it or replace it with a new videocard. Other than go out and buy a new laptop.

foremost idea is to contact compaq and see how much it would cost to get repaired, since it might still be under warrenty
but sometimes the cost can almost be the same as getting a new laptop so i would get a few quotes from discrete computer sh

Put in place of the logic board. It's less expensive than replacing the whole computer, maybe it's under warranty, and that's a good thing. You can't have good video without a morality graphics card, and in laptops you can't have a good graphics card without a good

Downloading the newest drivers may be quality a try, you might also want to try "overclocking" your card, be careful though as it might trash your hardware.

Well your laptop has the serious-end of the Geforce 5 series video card which is 3 series behind or should I say 4 series behind when the 9 series of Nvidia video cards will be implemented on laptops. I create the best way is to buy a new one..You can't change

It's okay, I can't run games like Secondlife or WoW because my onboard graphics Easter card is trash. But anything that's kinda fun and not demanding on graphics would be good to suggest.
