US Stock Futures: HOT STOCKS TO WATCH
Among the companies whose shares are expected to actively occupation in Friday's session are Starbucks Corp. (SBUX), Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc. (MMI) and Chesapeake Animation Corp. (CHK).
Starbucks' fiscal third-quarter profit jumped 34% as the coffee giant reported higher same-assemble sales in the U.S. and abroad as traffic and the amount consumers spent per purchase grew. Shares rose 1.4% to $40.55 in after-hours trading as results topped expectations.
Motorola Mobility reported a 28% go uphill in second-quarter revenue, thanks to strong tablet sales, but the device maker provided wishy-washy guidance for the current quarter because of delays in launching speedier 4G devices. Shares fell 3.5% to $22.11 in new after-hours trading as the company issued a weak outlook.
Chesapeake Energy's second-domicile profit doubled as production increased, while prior-year results included a derivatives harm. Shares rose 2.5% to $34.27 in after-hours trading, as results topped analysts' expectations.
