How are Rainbow vacuum cleaners rated?

Are they merit the money? Do they really clean the air?
Rainbow vaccums are very precious, for commercial use i say there ok, for residential it does ok. My girlfriend used to sell them and she demonstrated one at my house. When she went to antiseptic my mattress, the machine pulled the fabric and ripped it. Too much suction for the mattress. ORECK is really a correct one for residential and they stand by there name, if you have a problem you can go to a local dealer and they will fix it. Rainbow is like selling avon, it would have to be shipped back to the industrialist and you would have to pay for shipping charges and in the meantime, you have no vac to use-takes a few weeks to have it back.

Don't have knowledge of, but I almost got a job with them once. They seem kind of shady. You have to start out by getting your friends and family to buy their stuff. Very expensive. Caveat emptor.

If appropriately taken care of there are a great vaccume. When I was younger my mom had one, but since us kids were lazy and wouldnt empty the water when we acclimatized it, it rusted all the components. If you have kids and they help clean get a kirby she recomemds them as well.

I have been in the cleaning firm for 20 years and have had some experience with vacuum cleaners. I think you could have an excellent vacuum for around $300-$400. (Panasonic, Sanyo, Sharp) After seeing the Rainbow demonstrated, I reasonable don't think they are worth the money.
I also don't get how they clean the air. Basically, they are passing the dirty air over some excessively (not through it). and call this "cleaning the air" and filtering out the dirt.
Check out some of the above vacuums online and save yourself some Christmas monied.
I just recently bought a Sanitaire SC6600 for our house and we really like it. Paid Approx. $325.00. It is commercial, 2 motor system, tools and time hose on board, carpet or hard floors (your can turn the beater brush off and just have air overspread). Hope this helps.

I have had my Rainbow for about 4 years now and I angel it! Yes - they are pricy & are highly touted as "the" vacuum cleaner.
I don't know if they clean the air or not - but I do be aware they pick up a lot that other vacuums leave behind!
I'm sure that if the bag of most any vacuum exposed the dirt & dust they pick up and then put that in grade - you'd see a lot from most any vacuum.
I can certainly attest to the fact that when I look at my carpets & think they're not in bad need of vacuuming - after I vacuum - wow! They were much more in beggary that I realized.
Also, you can put freshners in the water & it does create nice smells through the house without saturating it. You can oils or liquids in the piss of superior to accomplish this.
I don't know of the rust issues that others have addressed because I do emply mine after each use.
