Day Drinker: Swizzle Inn Phoenix New Times (blog)

. We throw up the remainder of the evening on the patio, drinking cheap wine, reminiscing about Lloyd Dobler and wondering if we had reached the decimal point in our lives where watching 20-nothings fall in and out of love was akin to putting money in a vending system and not getting our Cheetos - no payoff. Time to call my good friend, Ronda, ex-co-proprietor of the recently departed Ruby Apartment and Day Drinker play-date, and go to a place that kicks it old school. Time to go to the Swizzle Inn .

There's something satisfying about rank outside a bar nestled in the corner of a strip mall at 10 a.m. and watching the Starbucks psychos across the parking lot get their caffeine fix knowledgable that, within minutes, your cup o' joe will contain Carolans Irish Cream Liqueur (the bottom-shelf version of Bailey's), and you won't be rushing to reap that corporate "brainstorming" meeting. Your only job today is to read the "Beer Prayer," lovingly painted next to the right of entry of the Swizzle on a painted-over window. We read, we prayed, we entered.

Are all Shark vacuum cleaners really loud?

I bought one and I have to corrosion earplugs to use it. It doesn't work all that well, either, just good enough. I'm thinking of taking it back. Any suggestions for a honest stick vacuum? My case on my Hoover was cracked really badly (where it meets the handle) - that's why I bought the Shark.

I had a shark one and got rid of it for the most part for the noise. They use such a small motor with alot of rpms which is why they are so loud. Plus it stopped sucking very well after a testy period of time. I have a Hoover wind tunnel now which is pretty quiet. It is a generic version of the Dyson. Got it at Walmart for $ 110.00.

Don't go back to Hoover - eventhough they're orderly vacuums - becuase they can be just as loud....depending on the model, I guess.
I hope you have superior luck in finding a better one; I'm still searching for something that rids of dirt, not my eardrums.

I only have the clap held shark, bigger than a dustbuster, it is kind of noisy. But I dont take it out much.

Anyone w/ experience/opinion re: the new Shark "Infinity" Bagless Washable HEPA filter Upright vacuum cleaner?

It's $199 Cnd., and there's a $249 pet dust miniature, too. 24 cyclone tech, 17 ft. stretch hose, furniture attachments. Not to be confused with the earlier Shark models. It promises to do same job as event twice the price, but y'know....Vacuum Cleaners.
I just don't feel like doing the 'buy, try, and proceeds' routine, so opinion from someone will be appreciated.
OK, I bought one. Soon I'll be able to answer my own matter.

The Infinity comes with a liberal 12 amp motor and a 12" cleaning integument - a scarcely on the everyday side but okay for most homes (14" for the Dyson and 15" for the Hoover).
