When will be at the point where androids/robots are fairly common for housework?

Robots in terms of humanoid robots that do practice housework like laundry, cleaning, etc. I was talking to a friend about this, who thinks this will never happen soon, but I weigh it's reasonable to assume that robot labor isn't far off.

......When most Americans become so corpulent, that they can no longer walk. Then we'll HAVE to invent robots to do our chores for us!
