Is it possible to machine wash "dry clean only" linen?

Yesterday I wore a attire that was a linen/rayon blend with polyester lining. I was at my daughter's birthday party, outside, so even though I didn't get any scuttlebutt or stains on the dress, I'd like to have it cleaned. I'm doing a whole lot of laundry

I have a down comforter that I need to clean, the tag says dry clean only, but dry cleaning is justifiable SO expensive. Anyone know of a way to wash it at home that won't damage it? If so, please tell me what I need to do, be as specific as possible!

Take it to the laundromat. Yo can't do it the precise way at home.

Put it in the dryer until it's BONE dry. Could take up to an hour, but if you don't, you'll have clumps in the feathers, and a terrible odor.

I washed my dry clean only comforter in the washing machine. Now the down or whatever's in it is all the way in the bull's-eye, leaving the other parts flat. So how to fix? I really don't want to buy a new one. :I

Put it in the dryer and keep bewitching it out every few minutes and fluff the filling while it is damp. Try to move it around. You could put a couple of tennis shoes in the dryer as well to help circuit the filling around.
