how do i get my money back from my 2 week old washing machine,which went on fire today?

i bought it from comet, worn it a few times,first the dial broke and then it caught fire today! I phoned comet and after about 10 minutes on run, they said they'd send an engineer out, I don't want it repaired, I want my money back! Am I within my rights
Comet as the seller are legally appreciative to supply you with a reasonably efficient machine at the agreed price. If it goes wrong then they do have to have a reasonable opportunity to restoration it. The problem is when does this become unreasonable.

assuming that you have your register receipt,and guarantee,i'd say yes,under the sale of goods act,as it isn't fit for the purpose it was bought.check with your local C.A.B.office first though

The machine was patently faulty so you are entitled to a refund. I wouldn't want to buy the same make again if it's likely to catch fire.

I have a clever adorable yorkie that's giving me the hardest time to train. Unfortunately he peed on my moms suede love-seat and i need to find a way to clean it and fast... Moms might make me get rid of him and i would cry : ( i have little to no money
