Hot water heater needs fixing. Why reset button frequently?
Our charged hot water heater is not heating and we have to hit the reset button about every other day. Then it gets really hot. Why? It is only 5 years old. How do we fix it?
It sounds like the thermostat is on the fritz. That would extenuate it getting so hot to the point that the protection circuit is kicking it off and you having to press the reset button. Succeed the thermostat and it should straighten up.
