I exactly moved, and the previous owners just installed a new electric hot water heater. Well I had hot water the first day, then nothing.. it was all cold. Someone came over this morning to look at it and told me it was the reset button.. I had hot water

Did they outlet the tank before they left? When I moved into my house, we had to turn on the water and let the tank fill before we turned on the circuit to the tank. Perhaps the tank wasn't full but it was trying to heat and it overheated and tripped?
