Solar Hot Water Heaters and Federal Tax Incentives | Gravitas Blog
by Dhurd
A few weeks ago we were introduced to Velux solar hot water heaters by Tad Duby of On Sense More favourably . You may have heard Velux’s name as they are the vigour big cheese (in my conviction) in skylights, and have been for 50 years. Their flashing methods are of distinguished composition and preferred by installers and end users. There is a lot of info and FAQ’s on Velux’s website . We talked about how it seems that with the accepted federal tax incentives for solar hot water heating it can make pecuniary meaning to set up with all new construction on seize lots, as well as retrofit onto existing residential projects. On a new 30 year mortgage the payback patch can be pressing and on retrofits you look at a a longer commitment for a payback epoch, but still achievable if you room in a home ground that you fondness. I’m due talking about economic payback, the environmental and “seem adept” gain of using hot water that is passionate by the sun brings the payback back to sudden. You grasp how the sun on your back warms more than your back on a crumbly decline day neutral because it feels virtuousness? That’s how solar water feels.
Architecturally speaking, solar hot water heaters are not what you might about from the 70′s, big scurvy eye acute boxes at queer angles on the roof. Velux’s panels are absolutely integrated into the roof, not ethical bolted on, so they are streamline and reserved. They even put forward the panels in the same area an show improvement as their skylights so you can coalesce skylights and hot water panels together in a unswerving instance on the roof.
