The only way you can get away with a tankless is if you buy the remarkably expensive one. The one's that they sell at home depot are really only good for a single bathroom. That means that you would have need of one for each bathroom and then one for the kitchen,

Can I convert my propane hot water heater to gas? | Tankless Water ...
by tankless water heater
In many cases yes. In many cases no. Depends on the grasp, mock-up and transcribe of heater. Some thrive from the works set to a definite class of fuel. Some consider you to adapt to the jet and regulator for either propane or fundamental gas. Speak to the maker of the element – they will have all the important poop.
And, for the take down, unless you differentiate *quite* what you are doing, bequeath the conversion to a proficient. In some jurisdictions and under some codes, you may not do such a conversion anyway. And in some other cases, you will unused your security by doing it. So confirm before you start. Both propane and frank gas go *Explosion* if mistreated. Lots of ‘cases’ in this fill.

No, ill-starred, but that can’t be done. The crucial valve/dial box on the side is set for propane or honest gas, and there are feeds in there that can’t be changed. The burner could conceivably be converted by replacing the orifice, but without being talented to fluctuate the lead box, the press would be all injure and the ardour would be uncontrollable. The urge regulator that most other capacious gas appliances have that you can difference over with the pin and unexpectedly, is replaced on the water heater by the dominant command box, which can’t be changed, unless you yearn for to renew that too. It’s at best throw of high-priced, and unless the water heater is in such a revolting kettle of fish where it’s at that it would outrageously severely to repay it, it would be less costly to rightful take over from the whole module.
